Taqueria Cinco Hermanos: Authentic Mexican Flavors in Grayslake

Very straight forward place with cute charm. It was delicious! The service was quick and since it's an open concept kitchen it looked clean. We will be back and we are bringing friends next time.

On Saturday, 13 December I lunched at Taqueria Cinco Hermanos in Grayslake with clients; we arrived about 1pm. We were invited to seat ourselves and did so; we were attended almost immediately by a friendly, personable waitress who took our drink orders. Our drinks arrived very quickly as well as a plate of tortilla crisps and a small bowl of salsa; the salsa was excellent, with a good, home-made flavour and a terrific 'kick' to it (but not too hot). I enjoyed it very much, and told the waitress this as well. Due to the cold weather, I ordered a hot coffee, which arrived in a very beautifully decorated mug; it arrived very quickly as well. The waitress commented on the mug and, again, was very friendly and personable. Our orders arrived VERY quickly, in less than five minutes; I ordered the steak tacos and they were DELICIOUS. Full of flavour and served with cilantro, onion, lettuce, and tomato (and not too much of this) and on soft flour tortillas. I ordered three; I should have ordered more! The tacos were served with several different salsas, including a habanero which was wonderful and a salsa verde which was not as spicy but still had a great flavour/kick to it. . (small comment: I am partial to hot, spicy food so I really liked this) . We had two (2) different waitresses; both stopped by the table several times to ask how our meal was and if we wanted anything else. The waitresses kept my water glass filled, and with plenty of ice! The restaurant is clean and simply designed; the food was excellent and I will certainly come back again!

Decided to try this place as our usual go to has gone down hill… Walked in on a Friday afternoon and it was PACKED! Ordered the El Pastor tacos with cheese onion cilantro and grilled pineapple and they were the juiciest most flavorful tacos I’ve ever had! The workers were nice and the guacamole was super fresh as well. Will definitely go back here to try their other items.

Good overall loved the barbacoa tacos is a must! but didn’t like the flautas because are more like tinga fried tacos, a little bit salty for my taste but the food was good, I liked the sides!

The Elpastor tacos were amazing. Great bold flavor, roasted pineapple and home made salsa. Fast polite service and nice authentic atmosphere. Good prices too. Stop in and enjoy the best Mexican food in the area.

Highly recommend Taqueria Cinco Hermanos! We stopped by around 7:30 PM on a Saturday and were so impressed. The steak, pork marinade, and fish tacos were all delicious — my husband and son absolutely loved them. Great prices, friendly staff, and a welcoming vibe. Definitely a hidden gem we’ll be coming back to!

A treat to eat here excellent food everything was done perfect have had 5 to 6 meals there are not a bad one yet. Can’t wait to go back. Please try all the sauces they are amazing

we were immediately greeted when we walked in by the friendly staff! when we sat down two nice waitresses tended to us and they were great! the food portion made mine and my boyfriends mouth drop! literally…. lol. it was so good!!! well worth the 30 minute drive!! will definitely be coming back i got 2 steak tacos & a ground beef huarache, i liked the steak more than the ground beef! my boyfriend got a steak burrito and will definitely have some for lunch tomorrow
